Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act resulting from the Advanced Research and Invention Agency Bill, it is expedient to authorise any charges to tax resulting from the Advanced Research and Invention Agency being a public authority for the purposes of Chapter 10 of Part 2 of the Income Tax (Earnings and Pensions) Act 2003.—(Gareth Johnson.)

5Advanced Research and Invention Agency Bill: Programme (No. 2)

Motion made and Question put forthwith (Standing Order No. 83A(7)), That the following provisions shall apply to the Advanced Research and Invention Agency Bill for the purpose of supplementing the Order of 23 March 2021 (Advanced Research and Invention Agency Bill (Programme) in the last Session of Parliament):

George Freeman reported that the Committee had agreed the following Reason:

Lords Amendment 1

Because it would make provision relating to the administration of financial support provided out of public funds, and the Commons do not offer any further Reason, trusting that this Reason may be deemed sufficient.

The Reason was agreed to.

11Business of the House (Today)

The Lords have passed a Bill to make provision for the creation of a single status for workers by amending the meaning of "employee", "worker", "employer" and related expressions in the Trade and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992, the Employment Rights Act 1996 and cognate legislation; and for connected purposes, to which they desire the agreement of the Commons.
